Someone recently asked me what I hoped for my clients. I said my hope was to give them hope.
Life is full of challenges, some great, some small. Sometimes a qualified therapist is needed to support an individual to work through problematic areas in life and know they don’t have to go at it alone.
My training comes from a cognitive behavioral orientation. That is working with clients to identify, explore, and work through their thoughts, which have a direct impact on their feelings and behaviors. I also like to tailor a client’s therapy based on their wants and needs for an optimal therapeutic outcome, therefore I integrate other types of therapy as warranted by the client.
I am an active-directive therapist, which means I am more willing to be verbally and actively involved in your therapeutic process. I am also a faith-based therapist and I enjoy empowering people to find their true, core selves, not what has become familiar and still feels dysfunctional. My clientele consists of individuals, couples, and adolescents and I work with a variety of mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, stress, divorce, blended families, family therapy, trauma, men’s and women’s issues, and self-actualization. I also specialize in helping addicts and their families work through their recovery process, as well as co-dependency issues (CODA).
I look forward to meeting and working with you so that you can live a more genuine life that is truly full and in the moment. The time is now to define what is really true for you and is not mirrored from the past or holds you down because you are enslaved with worry about the future. Life is about living authentically and I am here to support you on your journey.
